1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with X (Twitter), we receive and store:

• X User ID - Your unique X account identifier.
• X Handle - Your @username.
• Display Name - Your X profile display name.
• Profile Image URL - Your X profile picture URL.
• Verification Status - Whether your X account is verified.

We do not collect your email address, password, or X direct messages. We do not read your X posts or timeline.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authentication - To identify you and maintain your session.
• Dashboard - To store your symbol tabs and preferences.
• Sponsorships - To display your X handle and profile image on sponsored symbol widgets (unless you choose anonymous sponsorship).
• Payment Processing - Your Stripe customer ID is stored to manage sponsorship billing. We do not store credit card numbers.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Your data may be shared with:

• Stripe - For payment processing of sponsorships. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Public display - If you sponsor a symbol (non-anonymously), your X handle and profile image are shown publicly on that symbol's widget.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored in MongoDB Atlas (cloud database) with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication uses JWT tokens stored as HttpOnly cookies and in browser localStorage.

5. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie ("auth") to maintain your login session. It is HttpOnly and expires after 12 hours. We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics.

6. Your Rights

• Access - Your profile data is visible on the Account page.
• Deletion - You can permanently delete your account from the Account page. This removes all stored personal data and cancels sponsorships.
• Anonymous Sponsorship - You can sponsor symbols anonymously to hide your identity from public view.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed. Anonymous aggregated analytics data may be retained.

8. Children

MarketGambit is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
